Default Broken Wing

This might have been answered before, but I've tried to look back and haven't found anything. What are the criteria for wearing the broken wing patch? I went down (actually straight into the side of a truck) earlier this summer. Only about $2,500 damage to the bike and one severely bruised up body and innards. Things could have been soooo much worse, but God still must have a plan for me that I haven't fulfilled. The LEO that responded to the scene was amazed at the amount of damage there was to both vehicles and with the fact that I was still alive considering the impact force that I had experienced. I don't think that wrecking a bike makes you anything special, but because of the accident there came a couple of events that have had an impact on my life. I want to "mark" what I feel was a turning point for me. So with that in mind, does that qualify as having "earned" the right to wear them?

Far as I'm concerned, you crashed, the bike got smashed, and you're here telling about it; you earned the patch.

Damn right you could wear one if you wanted. You went down bad, hard, however you wanna call it.

I did that over Christmas, went down bad. Messed up a finger, my wrist, fractured my thumb or bone, or something in there. Had it cast up for ages. Fractured my leg, ankle etc etc, cast for a couple months. Blah, blah blah.

Anyhow, a couple months later a bud told me to get one, and explained the patch;....... as he couldn't remember back to when I didn't have the casts. Lol.

So, I did, now it's with all the rest of the patches....... doing nothing.

Edit.//.... Sorry, but had to add this pic taken by my munchkin........

If you want to humble yourself by wearing a "broken wing "patch,it's your perogative, after being "down" twice,I prefer to wear a coupla' "crashin'sucks" stickers on my helmet....just sayin'....

I got one last year when my feelings were hurt after an altercation stemming from someone making fun of my chaps and fingerless gloves.
