The MI winter has been brutal. I'm tearing my Ultra down for some powder coat and paint. I'm also replacing the exhaust and tires. Just can't wait for spring!
I take my bikes all apart during the winter to do modifications and maint. stuff. We had several winters a while back where a person could actually ride at least once every couple weeks. Not so the last couple winters. I'm only here cuz of the money. Once I sock enough away, I'm movin south, so look out.
PMS----BIG TIME!
I had to turn over my trade in before Oct 1st to get top dollar. My new Ultra came in late November. Every day I open the the window blinds to watch the snow melt. As of this post it's -15. I think I'm gonna' have PMS for awhile yet!
The roads here have been white since November...either snow covered or white from all the salt. We had the coldest temps of the winter last week, got to -32 two mornings. I HATE winter too!!
I don't know how the people up north deal with it, but here in the south I can usually ride year round, not trying to rub salt in the wound, it is cold and gets real cold from time to time, but with the right gear and not minding the cold it is possible to ride. Now I am not saying that I get to take the day long road trips, but my usual comminute back and forth to work keep the motorcycle from being parked all winter
I'm going crazy waiting for it to get nice around here (Minnesota). It's been awhile since I've been able to ride. I usually wait as long as possible to quit riding and start up as soon as I can. Last year I was riding up until christmas and back riding in March. I'm hoping that this global warming will help out a bit.
Know what you mean about the PMS - they predicted snow today here in South Caolina so I drove a car to work....first day I haven't ridden the bike since sometime in the winter of 05 and I'm already going through withdrawals.... It's tough living in SC..... sorry......
