Just purchased a Harley Tri Glide and wanted to put some Screamin' Eagle mufflers on for some extra "noise". Don't need a boost in performance just want to be heard!
Does anyone know if this is possible and is it worth it.
I have a TriGlide and installed V&H tapered Slash slip ons. Check them out on ebay. They have them for the TG. They have that nice low rumble, but crack on the throttle and you will be heard.
If you go to You Tube, you can search for Harley-Davidson, V&H, Rineharts, etc., and listen to them. Granted, it's not like being able to listen to them live, but it'll give you an idea. Then you can narrow your choice and hang around the local dealer to see what comes in.
V&H are very good. So is Rineharts. Rineharts, in my opinion, aren't AS loud as others, but provide for a nice deep rumble. When you're talking to owners about what they have, be sure to ask what baffles they have in them. Some makers have two or three different baffles that you can put in for different sounds/noise levels.
