Here is a little work on the handle from last week. Opened up the clamps to fit the 1" bars. Built a mock-up handle. Sent it off to a buddy of mine to see what he could do. Got the handle back from my buddy today. Looks great. I will get some video of the finished handle later this week when the banjo's and bolts get here.

I could see another lever from another brake down below with the ball flattened out or drilled and bolted through for a nonslip pad for the thumb. An allen bolt through a piece of chrome pipe would connect the two levers.
Actually, I was originally thinking of a thumb ring, like on snowmobiles. Maybe I said that before; dunno, I'm gettin' old.

Another thought (now that you've done all that work) just occurred to me would be a throttle grip on the left, cable going to a brake lever elsewhere. I remember the very old bikes that had it like that for spark retards.
Aw, I wasn't alive then, I just remember it.

Thanks Tex. It is almost done. Just waiting on banjos to get here so I can get the brake line length correct and get it ordered.

How's it going quad. The finished lever has a better spot for the thumb. It is turned and more of a grip pad for the thumb. We tried to design it in a way that minimized the distance you have to open the hand to have the thumb reach the lever so that control on the grip is maintained. It works real well. I'll get a viddy up on here within the next few days.

Alright guys and gals.

Worked last night with Brad - the brake line is on. Thumb brake is ride tested, ride approved.

Pulled the thumb handle back off, took it to Buster this morning to have it pinned. He will get to it quick. So just a day or so until I can video the finished product.

We are ready to set up a ride! Bill is excited and says he is ready to take a road ride, so we are going to find out.

If you would like to try and join us for a ride, send me a pm and your email address. I will keep a folder of people that want to try and join us and contact everyone with a date when it is determined. It is going to be soon. Maybe in the next few weeks. So get me your info if you are interested.

Here is a tenative option - Meet up in State College at the home, I will provide an address and help anyone get there. Or, if some people would like, we can meet up at an easy point of interest and go in together. What ever works is fine. Ride through Bill's old stomping grounds, stop for a meal and a drink. Then, finish off the afternoon with loop back towards my home. Those traveling away can split off on the major interstates we be crossing and those interested in sticking around can continue on to my home where we can build a fire outside, cook weenies, drink beer, tell bullshit stories and lies, and maybe get to know each other, but most of all, give Bill a fun day out. All are welcome. If 1 or a hundred show up, we will make due somehow and make the best of the situation.

Weather is obvioulsy an issue. We will pick a Saturday and have a Sunday rain date. When the time gets close, we will decide if the forecast is reasonable to go forward and I will contact everyone either way.

Nice job! I'll be getting the Neptune levers. http://www.venhill.co.uk/Controls/MO..._ANODISED.html
Expensive, but I can set them up for clutch & Front brake.

Gypsy, nice setup. Yeah you are correct, right in line with everything else that was not on our budget!

Unbelievable timing! Very shortly after I posted this morning about the bike being done, etc., Bill text me - He is probably getting out of the home next week or weekend.

So, I ran over to the home on my lunch break to speak with him. He wants to ride. So, next Saturday it is! Rain date is next Sunday. 15th and 16th. We talked about starting the ride around 11. He was cool with the idea of riding, eating, riding and then hanging at my house afterwards. Anyone that is interested in going, we would love to have you join us.

I will post details as you need them.
