Yesterday, coming home I had a yellow jacket fly under my helmet and crawl right in front of my face where I could see it right in front of my nose. Panic ensued, as I was going 60 mph! Anyway, I pulled over calmly and got the helmet off without being stung. THAT was a first for me and man, it is something I would never consider happening with a full face helmet! This helmet also has a chin cover that seals up good enough that I thought it could never happen.
We have horrible yellow jackets around here and they are aggressive! Anyway, I think I finally found the one fault of a full face helmet. Lucky for me, I had a place to pull over quickly.

Has anyone had this happen before?
Yeah, my dad had it happen a couple weeks ago. The bee flew in under his sun glasses and stung him next his eye. Lucky for him he had a good place to pull over too also. I'll have him post his story here.
Did you ever stop to think the Yellow Jacket was just looking for a place to hang out, and the tip of your nose looked like an awfully good place to him?
Everyone is always against the Yellow Jacket. Kill the Yellow Jacket. Smash him before he stings. Damit, Yellow Jackets are people too, and they love riding bikes.
Happened again this past Friday...coming home from a buddy picking himself up a new bike...Stopped by a Valero to get a drink and felt something cruizing around my calf inside my jeans. Stung me just as I got my jeans rolled up...Red wasp for me! Must have happened when my legs were up on the highway pegs just prior to stopping. Haven't gotten hit in the face yet, but this is the 2nd time in the leg!
Had them fly up my jacket sleeve, up the leg of my shorts, and behind my glasses. But my luck wasnt the same as yours. But did run through a swarm of honey bees this summer w/o a single sting, thank you fairing and face shield.
