Lot of difference in a woman alone out just riding by herself and a woman out riding alone stopping in a bar which might be or is a water hole for 1%ers,,, two totally different situations you have put yourself into.

But I am biker and I like to stop at biker bars.... Now, when I enter a bar - which I like to do, and sit down and notice a club or a group of guys in general, I tend to be on the friendly side. I'll smile, I enjoy conversation and such easily with both the men and the woman because I am a sociable kind of person. But usually I am not looking for anything other than a nice place to stop, have a beer and enjoy some casual conversation.

I guess in some instances you are damned regardless because if a guy offers to buy you a drink, and you accept it, suddenly he is thinking you like him...or if you don't accept it, suddenly you might just be a bit disrespectful and I do believe the 'respect' part of this story is most difficult for us gals. Especially if you aren't interested in someone who is interested in you. Like if he tries to get overly friendly and you have to push him off ...etc....that can be very 'disrespectful' even if its not very respectful to me.

Now dont' get me wrong - I have had both experiences, to where club guys have been very respectful of me, kind and honorable, but I have also had those experiences where if the club guy is very drunk and you turn him down, suddenly he is saying he was 'disrespected' by you and you know you might be in trouble.

Then there are the chicks that follow the guys (their 'property')- you are standing there, having a conversation with a beer in hand, and one of the jealous 'biotches' decides to walk past and 'bump' you and then see how you'll react. Of course the guys get a big kick out of this.....I'm not a fighter , but a lover and I know when to leave........but it seriously sucks when all you are out there doing is trying to enjoy the day.

I have had to learn the hard way that they own wherever they are at that moment and I am but a visitor.

I've seen it mentioned, several times, that one might find themselves in the presence of patched MC club members, without being aware of it, because they are not wearing their patches. I was under the impression that, at least in some MC's, going out without your patch would be a violation of club rules. From what I see here, that clearly isn't true. Or is it?

Very true. Some clubs want the members to wear them whenever on a bike. Some don't want you wearing them at all in a cage. And some clubs only want you wearing them when doing club activities like rides, doing club business, and such. Totally up to the individual club.

Coming from a military vet;

a) If I see a guy wearing a military uniform, including medals - I have no idea if he earned them or not. I could get his name & SSN, do a records check in DC, find out if he actually served and verify all his medals and ribbons... but, I doubt I'd ever do that

b)Through the years, in the fashion world, there have been many knock offs of military uniforms, ribbons and medals. No vet has ever given a rats *** about anyone wearing these fake military items.

c) At various periods of time, it was popular for people to buy actual military uniform items - Army jackets & shirts, Navy peacoats... no vet ever gave a rats *** about anyone wearing them.

d) With the patches and MC issue - we're not talking about MC's getting upset with someone wearing an unearned MC patch. We're talking MC's getting upset with a group like PGR for wearing a PGR patch.

Alot of people wouldn't think twice if that had happened to someone, but let an MC 1% do the same.......they cry foul.
There is a big difference between military medals and m/c club colors.
I'm not saying m/c club members may not feel they are comparable; but, I think military medals are deserving of respect by everyone. They are awarded for service to our Country.
I don't think m/c club colors are entitled to any respect. Of course, I don't respect any bullies or gangs.
Fear, perhaps; but, not respect.

I reread what I wrote. I guess I shouldn't have said "most", but there are a good number of them that are into illegal activities and do live like trash. A lot have steady and legitimate jobs, have nice homes and look like a Dr. at med school. Like I said, it varies just like everything else in life.

Oh, to answer your question. I know this from talking to them, knowing where they live and what they do for a living. That's why I don't understand why grown men on this board idolize that kind of life. I know that I wouldn't want to drive a shitty car, live in dumpy house and be considered trash.

I have nothing against MC clubs, in fact, I am a member of one. A cut or club doesn't make you a man, what you do with yourself and your life does.

So you "know and talk" to MC members that are meth heads? You also mention that you are in a MC. Would you mind mentioning which one? Unless it's a 1% club, you shouldn't have any issues with that. And please, don't say H.O.G.

Yes, I've dealt with some that are. Yes, some of them **** heads and are trash. Some aren't. Why are you people acting like I'm making this stuff up? Yes, some are into illegal activities that lands them in jail and prison. It's well documented.

No, I'm not a member of HOG and nor will I ever be.

Reason I ask is, MC club members usually don't discuss club business with outsiders. And you're an outsider unless you belong to that club. You also state that you belong to a club, yet you seem ignorant of the goings on within an MC.

Now, do you still wonder why people act like you're making stuff up?

coming from another veteran......

As for a civilian trying to pass himself off as a soldier......there's usually an obvious giveaway, and you don't even need to get out AR 670-1 to disprove him. Why bother?

The irony of that is t-h-i-c-k ! MCs descend from groups of veterans who probably all had PTSD (before it had a name), found it hard to re-assimilate to civilian life, and preferred to live in that unit-like lifestyle. Yet, MCs of today, who claim to honor soldiers and vets, won't let people in their own communities wear their PGR patch.

I know it's not all MCs who do this, but puh-leeze.

I'm surprised that some don't go after highschool kids who cut off the sleeves on their letterman jackets.
