Almost forgot, ol' stonewall308 asked about buying his first muttersickle back on 8-29. He finally bought it yesterday. So, let's just give him the benefit of being a clueless newbie who shot himself in the foot, after sticking the foot in his mouth, and talking stuff he doesn't know. But some of us started out that same way, so maybe he'll learn something. Or not.
Sometimes it's better to remain silent and be thought a fool, rather than speaking and removing all doubt.
The only way to at least try to keep a lid on this type crap is for someone to exert some control over the whole club scene. That's it, the sole reason behind the patch/club control thing.
Sweet, I am glad to know the people are talking about burning people's homes down with their wife and children inside really just have everyone's best interest in mind.
I'll try to keep that in perspective when I catch someone in the commission of a violent felony.
Again, I have no interest in wearing patches, haven't worn one since I quit boyscouts. I do have an interest in the statement "probably won't kill [someone over what they are wearing]."
Ok..so let me get this straight, we have gone from some guy that wants to put christian patches on his vest to threats of taking you out at night to counter threats of you better move because there is more of them. Wow this biker wanna be chit is confusing.......these MCs must be real board beatin on a Christan because he has some patches on his vest from Sunday school, I don't know where the hell some of you live and I sure the hell never wanna go there............... but if I want to wear a nice ribbon that the Sunday school teacher gave me I sure the H E double hockey sticks ain't gonna get it cleared by the mickey mouse club and I'm not going to pack heat when I do wear it.
I understand your points but why does someone need to exert some control over the club scene? They are adults, they should be self-governing. What differentiates a 1% club from a group of teenage Crips or Bloods that defend their block from other neighborhood kids? In my opinion the only thing that differentiates them is the age group. I understand the camaraderie and brotherhood in a club but I dont understand why they try to claim a territory (which they dont own) or claim colors (again, which they dont own) and insist that others abide by their rules and guidelines. It just seems very childish. I can understand if someone creates a patch that outright disrespects a club but I dont understand why any MC has the right to tell any citizen what they can and cannot wear. If the OPs brother-in-law wants to wear a Christian patch then he should. End of story.
Let me repeat what I said earlier, but a little more bluntly: 'Cause a buncha clueless f*cksticks who decide to start their own club without understanding it ain't about being billy-jack-offs cause problems for the rest of us. They don't police themselves, so someone else has to. Who better than those intimately involved in MC life?
Oh, and we do own our colors. Some of 'em are even trademarked.
Nope, not Crayola. Someone said in this thread that the OP should get permission from the dominant club to approve the colors of his patch. That's what I was referring to. I just happened to quote you...

MC's trademark their patch (or design). You can't own or trademark colors.
When we say "colors", we mean the patch, and usually the vest or "cut" they're on. Beyond that, having a say about the colors a club chooses is about preventing misunderstandings that outsiders, or even other clubs, might have. "Yeah, he was a real azzhole. He cut through here on his muttersickle, doin' about 237.468 mph, and knocked over Ma's flower pot. I don't know who he was, but he had a red and yaller patch on his back."
He wont ever have any problems with that patch....except maybe too many people asking hin where he bought it so they can do the same. Looks good, nice job he did.
On another note, MC's should worry more about their own members and the heat they bring down on them than what anyone else minding their own business and having the freedoms by living in this country are doing. Colors and territory are stupid reasons to die.
