Default dealer merger Philadelphia area

Mills and Hannum’s
Two Great Motorcycling Families
Now One Great Family Dealership

In 1954, Tom Hannum, Sr. sold his auto dealership, and along with Tom,
Jr., opened Hannum’s Harley-Davidson on Chester Pike in Crum Lynne,
PA. Four years later and on the other side of the Delaware River, Ed
Mills quit his day job as an electrician and purchased Mills
Harley-Davidson in Burlington, NJ.

Next month, these two great motorcycling families will merge. There
won’t be much change – Mills will still remain Mills and both Hannum’s
locations will still remain Hannum’s. But customers will benefit from
increased inventory and faster service while still maintaining the
family-style way of doing business that Harley-Davidson riders
appreciate.

In the coming weeks, there will be more news to share with you, but
for now, we want to inform all our customers that we are merging so
that we can continue to improve our service to you – the motorcycling
community in the Delaware Valley.

If you have any questions about the merger, feel free to call either
of us at any time.

Here’s hoping that you’ll continue to enjoy motorcycling for many
years to come, and rest assured that we’ll be here to support you.

Interesting. Liked Hannums but not really Mills unless they were having their tent sale. Who's buying who? Doesn't really say.

Thanks for the heads up.. I like Hannum's Media store but, I'm sorry to say, we had a less than pleasurable experience at Hannum's Chadd's Ford store shopping for a bike for my wife.. Never have been to Mills.. Anyway, that's all water under the bridge... good luck with the merger.

Hannums has gone down hill. I have tried to buy 2 bikes from them and they acted like they were doing me a favor.
I shop for the best deal.
Believe it or not I got the best deal at Mikes on my last two bikes.
Since Annapolis HD bought Mikes, they have really changed for the better.
Top dollar for trades and they always beat my best price I got from other dealers. I always paid a little less than MSRP. Mikes also takes in consideration all the extras you have on your trade, and gives you more money for them.

I'm kind of surprised about Mikes...that is good news for shoppers...I did try them last year and alot of other dealers but felt most comfortable at Mills...good deal there too and close to my house.

I had heard that Mill's 4 or 5 bike dealership in Burlington was closing down and Hannums was building a full size modern dealership about 5 miles away in Mt Holly. Whatever the case, I wish the business well.

My favorite dealership in the area is Brian's across the river in PA. Everyone from the sales manager to the parts dept is always friendly and helpful. I frequent a lot of dealerships and none come close. Trenton Harley was the worse and I wasn't surprised to see them bite the dust.

Interesting - I grew up in Kennett and moved away in 1990. Only dealer I remember was in West Chester and that was a Honda shop? Have not been back since 92. I bet it has changed a bunch. Chadds Ford tavern was huge for us older looking high schoolers.

Yea Coleman.. the shop in WC was Keystone Honda.. It was situated off of Gay Street back by the old Dairy Queen. I actually worked there for a short time..

I don't know how long Hannum's has been around.. but I think the Media store has been there a long time.. I've purchased a few things at the Media store and had no issues at all... people were friendly and helpful.. Not so in my experience anyway at the Chadd's Ford store.. but as I said.. we just moved on.. and haven't been back.

My two favorite dealerships in the southeast Pa / Maryland area and Lancaster Harley and Chesapeake Harley. Both our current Harley's came from Lancaster, and I have absolutely nothing bad to say about them. I've been treated exceptionally well there and the service guys, Kevin and Cory and Matt, have gone above and beyond on several occasions, great bunch as far as I'm concerned. We really like Chesapeake as well.. When we were bike shopping for my wife.. they took all the time in world to talk to with her and they didn't try to sell her a bike through me. One guy there in particular, JB, was just outstanding! Since we ended up buying the used bike.. I cant' comment on after the sale service or discounts or any of that.. but as far as taking the time to inform people and being respectful and all that.. JB was as good as they come.

Anyway like I said, I wish the new buisness well..
