I'm 66. Next Summer I will have had my M/C endorsement on my DL for 50 yrs. Started out on a Vespa125. I've owned HD,BMW, Kaw, Triumph. Currently looking for my next HD.
I am wondering how many riders out there are 60+ years old. I understood that Harley changed their product offerings by adding more baggers to accomodate older riders that wanted more comfort.
Are you out there? Should we dicuss some senior related issues?

Bought my first bagger this spring. I am 57. Bought it because I wanted a bigger and heavier bike with better ride and fairing..... "nough said.
[QUOoldprowler;145TE=94037]I am 75 and have hip replacement (at least 1 maybe both) in my very near future. That means I am also looking at owning a Tri-Glide pretty shortly.[/QUOTE]
Here's a chronology of my surgeries since a back injury in '95:
1996 - John Wild, M.D., Kurt Schroeder, M.D. Posterior lateral fusion L4 to L5 Steffe Plates@L4-L5 crosslinked; laminectomy and extensive decompression, Gill procedure, foraminotomies. .1996 Kurt Schroeder, M.D. Additional decompression surgery.
1997 Steven Curtin, M.D. second opinion; regarding non-union of lumbar spine.
1998 Steven Curtin, M.D. Repair non-union collapse and hardware failure.
1/12/98 Removal of posterior hardware.
1/14/98 anterior discectomy and fusion w/ femoral cortical dowel bone & anterior iliac bone.
1/21/98 re-instrumentation at L5-S1 w/ iliac crest bone harvest, fusion, and re-decompression.
2/16/98 Complication: collapse of anterior graft, replace bone dowels w/titanium cage.
2003 Lawrence Housman, M.D. Total Hip (Zimmer) replacement (left).
2005 Stuart Melcer, M.D. Laparoscopic repair of incisional hernia.
2007 Steven Curtin, M.D. Neck surgery - Cervical anterior carpectomy C-6, Fusion C5-7.
2008 Joel Goode, M.D. Left ulnar nerve revision at elbow.
I'm less then a year short of seventy, and am currently on a 2002 Electra Glide Std. The only concession I've had to make is a Lapera 2-up Villain seat. Since I had my (left) hip replacement in '03, it got hard to support my weight on that leg and swing my right leg high enough to clear the back seat sissy bar and back rest without banging the **** out of my saddle bags.
So give yourself some time to recover, then see where you're at physically. For me, the hip replacement was the MOST successful and quickest recovery of all my surgeries. It's truly amazing what these surgeons can do for you. Good Luck!
I just had C4-5 fused in 2012. Beforehand when the disk let go I had paralysis of my left shoulder and bicep. Thankfully I regained 90% or so function after the pressure was relieved from the nerves. It took almost a year of slowing gaining the use of my muscles back. I am expecting C6-7 to go in the next couple of years as well.
