Default I was seen today

I have read here about cages not seeing motorcycle. I wanted to add a positive to this situation.

On my way home, on the interstate, from a large city about 25 miles away, I come up behind a car traveling in the fast lane about 200 feet ahead of me. The driver switches lanes quickly and hits the brakes. I continue on and pass the car going about 80. Next thing I know, the car pulls along side with a cell phone open, but in the window. I'm unsure what this is all about and continue on.

About ten miles down the road, I am preparing to pass a pick-up truck. While doing so, I see a flash of light coming from the truck. THE DRIVER WAS TAKING A PICTURE. I am pleased as I continue home, mostly smiling along the way. (Funny because I hardly ever smile )

When I get home, I remove my boots and phone from my pocket. It is at that point it dawns on me--THE FIRST GUY HAD A CAMERA PHONE and must have been taking a picture as well. 25 miles and two pictures of the bike from complete strangers.

I feel good about my Harley!

It might have been Speilburg

That's cool - Never had my picture taken but I've had a couple of elderly European couples stop and tell me what a beautiful motorcycle I had and then they talked about going for rides when they were young and how they loved it.

You never know what the person next to you is thinking - It's not all negative!!

Good to hear! I think my all time favorite was just this last weekend; there were over 100 bikes in the parking lot, & this mom was walking her young ( maybe 4 or 5 yr old) boy thru,, looking at all the bikes... he had his hands up near his head, & was very anxious, Mom didn't know why , so asked the boy, & he said "When do we cover our ears???" We all smiled & said if he wanted to watch, stick around for about 15 more minutes. Someone bought the kid ( & Mom) a pop, & when we left, there was this little kid, tears Streaming down his face, hands Firmly over his ears... & THE biggest smile I have Ever seen....he was fairly hopping up & down he was so excited! & I think every one that saw him, waved, & his little head was just Bobbing up & down in response, because he wouldn't move his hands!

I think this lad is hooked for life now!

Great story. That's simliar to how I got hooked. I think my parents told me I was about 8 when we went to Holister for a day. Happened to be during rally weekend.

Maybe the 1st guy was on the phone to the guy in the pick-up and held the phone out the window to let him hear you roar by! That gave the pick-up guy a heads up to take your pic...

Just a maybe...

Cool story!

Glad to hear we're getting some GOOD notice. Funny thing happened on the way home on Wednesday. I was coming down a 4-lane road in front of our local Galleria, headed into my folks' place for dinner. A 50-ish guy in a converible Celica with 3 young (10-12 years old) boys was driving in my direction with his top down, obvously enjoying not only the weather and the attention from his kids because of his "cool" car. Unfortunately, the "cool guy's" kids lost all interest in the car when the bad man on the loud motorcycle went by. Heads craned around and I had 4 pair of eyes following me as I passed dear old dad.

Score: Loud motorcycle 1, Cool balding dad in convertible, 0.

The back of the phone was to the window. That could be the case though, or maybe it was the G-String. One will never know.

They were probably taking your picture to turn over to the police, after they reported you for loud pipes, driving too fast, or some other violation!
