Have a safe trip..... When you ride with your Uncle I am
sure you will get tired of waving...Al to tenn that sounds
like fun ... You need to go to the dragon in N.C. you will see Thousands of bikes...
I guess I should have been more clear. I don't mean waving to every bike if there are hundreds of bikes around... I'm talking about alone in minimal traffic down 2 lane roads... where it is easy to wave back. If I'm going 140 down the freeway I'm not gonna take my hands of the bars even for another Busa owner. That's obvious.
There is no doubt his post was trying to stir up sh$t. He is exactly the kind of person I would not wave to or even recognize weather he was on a bike or crawling down the street. Fricken jerk off.

Listen, we get a lot of guys on here that just want to stir up crap, and we pretty much give it to em. Your original post sounded inflammatory, like you were setting up for a fight
Geez, then I am gonna bury the hatchet here. Listen, we get a lot of guys on here that just want to stir up crap, and we pretty much give it to em. No, I don't not wave at people on purpose. If you are a pretty new rider, don't take offense to every little thing, and don't listen to everything that everyone has to say about what bike is best, etc. If you did your time in the Army be proud of it and realize that not everyone is trying to be a dick. Your original post sounded inflammatory, like you were setting up for a fight, so that is what we gave you. Just let it go and enjoy the ride. I am in Tikrit right now, so when I get home next year, you can ride your busa down and we will drink a beer.

You live in Anniston and ride every day and have never seen 100 bikes on the road? What's the matter, mommy won't let you ride at Mt Cheaha? Every nice weekend, that place is packed. I think you are BSing us about riding at all. Try waving at everybody up there, someone will be winching you out of a ditch, or scraping you off of a wall. Now granted, that is on the weekends, but I bet I still see over a hundred bikes a day in Columbus, GA. Now that gas prices are going up, you will see more, too.

When you see hundreds of bikes a day you just get tired of waving.
Just like this forum when you see the same questions you just get tired of answering.
When I am in the car I always wave to every car I see because we share the same road and
we're all facing the same dangers and all share the same love for 4-wheeled commuting.
I hope you understand...
Thanks for listening
That's absurd. You don't see hundreds of bikes on the road every day. You know what you said is just some ill fated poke. I'd actually like to see some HD rider just admit he doesn't wave to non HD's. But, yes... I have had some HD riders wave. Most do not, though.
I would bet you a hundred dollars I see hundreds of bikes a day ..
Come to Florida you will see....
Sure, in some areas there are bikes everywhere. But in most cities/towns it's like 1 bike to every 100 car. I think we both see each other's point on this one.
I've never ridden Cheaha yet but I plan to. I generally ride to Piedmont down Hwy 9. I used to live in Columbus, GA (ft benning) while stationed there. But I'm out of the Army now.
Thanks. I seriously wasn't trying to start up a fight... just get some answers. So I guess it's just about the rider and what bike we all own. I understand how you could have thought I was trying to start up something... but I think I've been pretty honest about myself so you all know that's not what I'm all about.
Who cares if anyone waves, don't sweat the small stuff, and don't major on the minors. Heck, everyone that rides is cool in my book...Harley, Victory, Sportbike, or moped. Anyhow the comments expressed by Pan are solely his own viewpoint, and don't represent the members as a whole at Hayabusa.org. If anyone from this forum cares to check out Hayabusa.org I think you will find we have a passion for our bikes as the members here have for theirs. Stay safe, and keep on riding...what ever you ride - just ride.
That's exactly how I feel... but just wanted some answers from HD owners about other HD owners. What better place to get those answers than from an HD owners forum?
I thank those that gave me some honest answers, and yes... I understand how what I first said could have made it seem like I was trolling. Like Val said, ride safe...
... and always ride fast (but that's just my opinion). Wave If you can!
I wave to everyone including scooters. It's the young jerks on sportbikes that don't return the wave. After a few hundred of those, one tends to not worry about waving to everyone.
I have waved to Harley's and have not received a wave back, I have received waves from speed bikes and have returned the wave. It don't matter to me. Sometimes you cannot wave as you may be heading into a turn, approaching an intersection, shifting gears or what have you.
This thread reminds me of the old joke about Harley riders....
Two bikes pull up to an intersection, one a "crotch rocket," the other a Harley bike being ridden two up. While waiting for the light both bikers attempt to intimidate the other. The Harley rider looks over at the other guy and states with a chuckle, "Nice bike, did those sneakers come with it?" The other replies as the light begins to turn green and he punches the throttle, "Thanks, you're bike is nice, too. Did that fat ugly bitch on the back come with yours?"
