50 miles round trip to work each day, what shopping will fit on board, visiting and getting 'round with the GF. Then there's just the rides I want to take, with no particular place to go. I'm not on my bike if the weather is crazy, if I've got to look ridiculously corporate or if I know I'm going to be drinking. That's gotten me aboard better than 2 out of 3 days, since March 20th.... which in Canada has meant some cold weather riding.
Every damn day if I can. I ride to work no matter how cold, if it isn't raining hard when I leave the house. If it's already raining then I basically do a coin flip in my head, whatever my mood is influences the outcome. Rain doesn't bother me in the least any other time, just on my way to work. Kinda weird. 18 miles each way if I take the interstates. Here in OK I can pretty much do year round. Only Jan-Feb timeframe sucks. If there isn't ice and it's at least around 32+ I'll ride. Can't get enough of it.
Other than that, any time I'm not having to lug around large items or animals it's on the bike. Me and the wife will pick up to go orders of food and if they don't fit in the saddlebags (like Earls Rib Palace bbq) she just holds em.
My main transportation 120 miles daily round trip. Garage in the winter. If the temps over 40 I ride. I have done some 28 degree mornings. ( Hard on the hands ). Not always fun but still better than the cage.
It's all I got. I ride back and forth to work and around town and on base all week. On the weekends I head home for 350+ miles. I ride in whatever the weather is that day. For all the money I safe in gas, I wouldn't trade it.
