Good pics, suggest a different background.

Very nice shots.

You're kinda ugly... but nice shots.

Just kidding.

Stay with the front lighting pic1. Second shot looks light a model kit on a back drop.

Sure is an ugly cuss sitting on your bike, might want to get a hot chick.

I'm sure you weren't planning on that being a portrait background, just testing equipment. Shots look good though. I would take you up on getting a portrait if I was in your area.

Print 1....background is too ho-hum, too much shadow behind leg & knee, too dark around windshield & saddlebags.
Not really stuck on the cropping off of the front & back of the bike. If you are attempting to make the main focus the rider, then the glare from the fairing and the tank draw the eye from the rider.
I would also crop out 1/2 of the sky.
Print 2....again, background not my favourite choice for bike/rider portrait. It may just be the way I have my screen calibrated but I do a lot of photography so I don't think so. If I tilt my screen so I am looking from above the screen, the details of the saddlebags, fairing & fenders are easier to make out. There appears to be too much contrast and shadow in those areas, as well as the rear tire.
For both photos....Perhaps a more diffuse light would reduce the 'glare' on the tank and firing, as well as the bright spot on the front of your jeans leg. Maybe another set of diffused lights to the left of the photographer would also bring out a little more detail from the shadows.

Hope this helps.

Soften up the sharpness between the "models" and background , will help blend more like it was done for real.

Thanks for all the comments. These were shot outside my house while I worked out the lighting, so yes the background would need to be different.

Soften up the sharpness between the "models" and background , will help blend more like it was done for real.
These were shot at approx 3pm in bright sun light with off camera lighting. I did not "photoshop" the bike/person into another background to get this look. This is a technique that I have been playing around with to get a certain look.

Thanks, and please keep the comments coming!!!!!!

That's a beautiful area, so I KNOW that you can find something nice to put behind the bike. And after living in SoCal for 7 years, I know there is something nicer to put ON the bike too!

But excellent work! I'd have that done for my bike if I was out there still!
