94 degrees here and I'm still wearing my leather jacket, kevlar jeans, and gloves commuting to work. I even get a few stares from other bikers but I'm riding in relatively heavy traffic and I'm riding with as much protection as possible regardless of the heat. I have found, simply by chance, that my latest leather jacket has zippered sleeves that open to a wider diameter when left unzipped. This lets air flow right through the sleeves and out the jacket. This is much cooler than any other jacket I've ever owned. I've found vented jackets make little difference. Anyone else ride protected most of the time regardless of the heat?
Long sleeve shirt protects me from those horrible harmful rays coming from that big orange ball in the sky. Saddlebag protects my leather jacket until it cools down.
wish i could ride with less but i have been brainwashed. feel naked without crap like jackets and gloves. used to ride an actual scooter w/ shorts and t-shirts but the harley is different. -i will do real quick jaunts in a t shirt and pants (and duh helmet) but that's it. Soon...

A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. Heavy traffic is nothing to play in.
For our hottest weather (we are in a desert) I am fortunate to have a wonderfully thin, vented leather jacket by Heine-Gericke. With this I wear jeans, touring-style leather boots, a pair of composite leather & fabric summer gloves with gel padding from Olympia, and a 3/4 HD helmet w/ visor. As soon as the temperature drops a bit I don my heavy leather HD jacket.
Yeah, I used to feel that way. If I can't ride with all the gear then I won't ride. But the fact is when it's 95 outside with a heat index of over 100 there is just no way I can wear all that gear with a FF helmet. So, I had to decide to park it for three months or compromise...I compromised. I now wear a long sleeve heavy cotton pullover with my leather vest. I bought a pair of Dickies work jeans which are made of heavy denim and reinforced in the legs. I also bought a Bell 3/4 helmet which is half the weight of my FF and has several vents that actually work. I still wear my steel toed work boots though. Big, big difference.
