i'm probably going to get some static for this, but here goes.... i'm probably not the most safety consious rider in the world but i know helments have save my noggin more than once. if it is 85 degrees out though i'm not going to wear a leather jacket etc. what i am seeing in hot weather and this is not some kid on a chinese likkersicle, but grown men who should know better on harleys or big metric cruisers wearing shorts and either flip flops, sandles or god forbid bare footed. first off the thought of a pissed off wasp going up a short leg headed for the family jewels is gauranteed to cause trouble and if you loose it with shorts there is going to a bunch of road rash. as for the foot thing, how many times have you been traveling at low speed and hit sand or something loose and had to slap a foot down to maintain balance? uncomfortable with boots, disaster with flipflps or bare footed. i've seen some of the road rash photos on other posts and had to put in my 2 cents worth. 40 plus years on two wheels makes you a bit wary of really dumb stuff.
HEY! Here's an idea! Instead of posting this here, head to the root of the problem. Whenever you see one of these guys, make it a point ot go up to them and lecture them on what they are wearing. That way you can avoid the static here from posting and open up a whole new chapter in your life on what happens when you voice your concerns of what others do.

Yes, please do! And make sure it's a real big dude with a chain. I hear they're a little more open to other people's thoughts on their apparel. And when your done, make sure to tell us how it turned out. Have someone take pics or video too! This is going to be awesome.

Hmmm...uh, no. Love my bike. Didn't force you to buy one, you can keep yours gramps.
I think that people should be able to do ANYTHING they want to. But, along with that, they should have to take responsibility for their actions. If you do NOT want to protect yourself as much as possible, fine, then you should pay the price including the price of the medical care you occur. If you occur injuries that would have been prevented or been less serious with proper protection the insurance should refuse to pay. You made the choice now live with it.

Yup, just like people on motorcycles should have to pay because they could have protected themselves better by being in a steel cage, more commonly known as a car or truck...
You made the choice, now live with it.
