Default sert or power comm

I have an 09 roadking, have Reinhart slip ons and big sucker ab, I don't really want to go to the Harley dealer he quoted me 850.00 for the sert and dyno only, I contacted fuel moto and they can send me a power comm for around 315. and even though I am a mechanitard they said I could install it. I have been told both that a sert is the only way to go and the power comm is the only way to go, just want some other opinions. Thanks for the time

Personally, I like the ECM programmers (TTS Master Tuner (nee SERT) or the current HD SEPST). I'd rather the ECM know what is actually going on, and be programmed to function as desired, rather than trick it into delivering the desired amounts of fuel. Many people seem perfectly happy with the add-on modules though.

There are warranty implications to both, the add-ons are easier to make disappear if something bad happens...

Neither.....TTS Mastertune.....way better....they actully at 1 time made the original SERT for the MoCo, an' I think they got in pizz'n match over somethin' so TTS makes their own and sells under that brand....Power Comm is decent, though.....but way more tuneabilty w/ the TTS in the hands of a good Dyno dude......not sure who makes this 1 for the MoCo (SEPST...Scream'n Eagle Pro SuperTuner), but it's good also....really can't go wrong on either of'm,but TTS is superior, IMO.....noth'n "Piggy-backed" like the Power Com.............

I like the Cobra Fi2000r. It is a super easy to install and yields a huge increase in performance. Cobra runs the dyno tests on the various setups out there for air intake and exhaust. If you do cam work then a tune is needed.

Corbra is a solid company and will be there in the long run. I have used them for four years on three bikes and my son has used them for 5 years on two bikes. Not a single issue with any of them.

I have two more bikes to install them on. When I am ready I will get them from J&P during one of their 10% of sales with free shipping. The retail from Cobra is about $280. J&P sells them for a little less and with the discount I got the last one for my 2010 Super Glide for $251.

It is the best performance jump for the dollar that I have found.

I put a PC-V on my RK a couple weeks back and LOVE it. Super easy to install and set. If you are comfortable changing your headlight...you can do this.

I recommend using the tuning platform you or your tuner feel most comfortable tuning with and that there is the most support and calibrations available for.

This doesn't answer your question but I would not shop by price. I would shop by features and support while just considering others opinions. I went with the SERT and I am happy with it but If I was doing it again I might actually consider a different tuner. I am disappointed that all HD's don't come with an ECM that is easily and readily tunable with software from the factory.

Have a 2010 SEUC, had the dealer put on Rinehart True duals, and SEPST and dyno. Took delivery of the bike during the winter storms, couldnt road test, but was assured that it ran great. When the snow cleared, road the bike. At 2000 rpms the bike would spit and cough, not backfire, but only right at that rpm. Called the dealer....bring it back its a tuning problem. The service manager told me that they could not tune bike at less than 20% throttle and thats right at 2000 rpms in 6 gear. I sinced learned this is bull!!
Harley Davidson dealers solution.....put a PC V on the bike, which they did.
The point is the SERT or the SESPT is only as good as the tech adjusting the bike. Obviously this dealers tech was not capable of tuning with a SESPT. If you have a good tuner then the SESPT is a great tool. If not the PC V is a solution because it has many canned maps to chose from.

I run a similar unit, but to be clear, units like this only adjust fuel. You can not adjust timing, or rev limiter.
