New 2010 Fat Boy Lo. After a highway ride yesterday, stopped for about 10 minutes and then went to restart, as the bike started to turn over, I got this loud backfire so I stopped. Bike started no problem after that. Any ideas?
I recently had a stage one completed (SE Hvy Breather, V & H 2 into 2, and HD dealer download) done. I am wondering if the HD dealer download is the culprit?
Thx.
Just a part of startin' a Harley. Oughta try a "Hot Start Backfire" on an old Panhead or Shovel with a kicker. Give you a whole new outlook on life, not to mention a 'Bad Knee' if it happens enough times.....
Mine will pop too, I usually hold the throttle open slightly (1/4 turn or less) while cranking and it prevents it. Sometimes I do it on purpose to freak people out.
Ok sounds normal then. I am a newbie so I appreciate the comments. I just want to make sure all was well with my new bike. I am going to consider redoing the mapping as it sounds that the HD dealer download isn't that great.
Thanks!
