I tried the Heat Demons, had some problems on the install. They sent the replacement parts, but never did get them working. Finally took them off and picked up some cheap gerbing heated gloves on ebay.
as others have stated, once you have them you won't
want to be without them. I installed mine also and have
yet to have problems with them, have had 2 winters so
far and ready for another and hopefully still no problems.
FYI - The seats do work...I have had mine for approximately two years and no problems. I purchased a new seat from Mustang and had them direct ship to Motorcycle Hot Seat - Mustang does this for many customers, I was told by the CSR.
The owners name is Steve, and before he started on my seat, he contacted me to determine where to put the ON/OFF, Low Heat and High Heat buttons. Nice guy.

OK. Why does one want a heated seat? Of all the things that might get cold as I ride, my *** is never one of them.

Because I am a skinny dude with low body fat percentage (< 6%) and get cold very easy. I've become part Texan and get cold now when it is under 70*. It helps me. Heated grips on the Harley are next.
@ MidnitEvil - as far as your posterior not getting cold, that might be due to large quantities of adipose tissue in it.
