Default What do you think about this?

I was talking with the OL today and we were discussing what major mods I was thinking about on my scoot, since it is nearly “All done.” I told her I wanted to go with a 103 kit, change the cams and then I told her about the paint job I was thinking about.

Now, let me explain before I describe the paint job:

My scoot has an eagle horn cover, an eagle talon custom kickstand and the plate is personalized “1INFDEL.” So what I was thinking about doing with the paint, leaving the color of the scoot red, but on the front of the batwing have:

A very detailed, realistic looking airbrushing of an eagle’s face, a really pissed off looking eagle. The eagle will be giving the bird, but the finger, or course will be an eagle talon. Under the pic will be written, “Jihad This!” Now, the eagle, finger and “”, will be bright and extremely detailed, almost popping off the batwing. In the background, behind the eagle, shadowed will be the twin towers. The towers will be light gray and faint so when the viewer leans in to take a closer look at the eagle, the towers will appear.

My OL said that will be offensive to some and wouldn’t go with the theme of the scoot. She also said someone might vandalize my scoot because of it. I found a guy who will paint the scoot’s tins and inner fairing, plus the lowers (the entire scoot needs repainting it has a few dings a scratches) for 2K.

What do you think?

I say go for it! Anybody that gets offended by that should have their *** kicked anyway. I don't think we should have to feel guilty about what those *******s did.

if you can get that quality of paint job for two large I think that is a great price point. I have had a similar custom air brush job quoted between $5 to 6 large on my scoot.

If it's something you want I say go for it . . . .to my way of thinking a little offensive now and then is good thing.

Now bear in mind that this is coming from a guy who played DE in college.

Have a good one,
Dave

Exclamation Proud to be an american - paint theme

dude!! that is an excellent idea, that is more than a paint concept, that is something that is a true statement to all, and wouldn't offend anyone except a muslim... well, I believe you have found your outfit that could do everything you want in one location

www.pairadicepaint.com

I have an extensive portfolio of eagle work, we are a certified Dupont refinishing location, and my head artist has a bachelors degree from the art institute here in Pittsburgh PA
2K to paint an ultra is completely outrageous, even if the quality of paint is decent the person spraying it states to make a little less than a few hundred bucks after overhead and material for about 50 hours of labor, I would want to know exactly what type of paint is being used, I would assume its cheap entry level stuff. we would charge 1K just to paint the faring with the design you want, and another 4K for the rest of the tins and bags, so basically 5K for a package deal or just a grand for the faring

check us out and let me know what you think, for a small deposit good toward your artwork, I will have your concept sketched and rendered in photoshop.

thanks,
rob

It only matters what you think.
If some Moslems are offended ask them why they identify themselves with terrorists.
If you painted your bike to say "****'s are evil" should that offend most Germans? I think not.
As a vet with 6 years in the Navy I say GO FOR IT.

P.S. I like your plate.....

I think your OL might have a point about vandalism. That is the same reason I don't do stuff like that (although want to) . All it takes is one A-Hole to cost you many bucks to fix damage. Chances of catching person are slim to none. If you do go ahead with paint, post some pics... would love to see it.

I think you'll arrive at the decision that suits you if you think it through. First, it's your right to express yourself, just as it's someone else's right and choice to take offense at your expression. If that's how you feel, then go for it, FTW. I agree with the sentiment you want to express.

Second, but maybe the more important consideration, is how you think you will react when you're called on it. Eventually you're going to get called on it somewhere, sometime, if you plan to be out in public. If you think you're prepared to deal with it in a way that you'll feel good about afterward, then do it. I don't necessarily mean how big and mean you are, because you're not likely to get confronted by HA over it. You're gonna get called by the soccer mom with her kids, little old lady, the preacher, etc. Will you feel uncomfortable? Embarrassed? Sorry you did it? Get my drift?

The fact that you asked the question tells me that you're not a FTW type to the core, so based on what little I know about you from this post I'd say don't do it, but what do I know? Isn't there enought **** you have to deal with already without looking for more?

She may be right! Not a big fan of expensive paint,my last full paint job was $350.00.A friend always has expensive paint and have heard him whine many times about nicks and dings.$2k would go a long way making the bike go faster! Good Luck either way, listen to your significant other.
