Good to start off on the right path, learn things the right way, move on from there.
Myself...getting recently back into biking, I plan on doing the advanced course this spring just to "brush up and learn more". With traffic on the increase, idiots texting and emailing on their cell phones, it's much more dangerous out there these days than it was 20 or even just 10 years ago.

I remember when I took the MSF, there were 2x Yamaha xross/dirt bikes in the mix of the other Rebels 'n what not, so being taller...I took one of those. Had a hole in the muffler...was wicked loud.

Was going to PM you but you don't have that feature activated, so sorry for the thread hijack!

Great shot of your RK against that background! Nice looking bike!

Now...on with the thread...kudos to the OP for taking and reporting on the MSF course. It's no secret I'm a fan of furthering your learning through rider courses. I JUST finished both the MSF and Rider's Edge "schools" and am now a certified MSF RiderCoach and Rider's Edge Instructor. I love hearing positive stories...that's what it's all about! Can't wait to start teaching!!!

Stay safe and keep practicing!

Good Job, Keep safe, our instructor called us Parking Lot Certified just to remind us that the road is always full of challenges.

The advanced class is a good idea every few years, every year is just to much. The plus side of Obama-nomics is there are alot of failed business parking lots to practice manuevers you learned. We all get rusty so every 6 months i spend of hour or two chalking a parking lot and practicing. It's hard to believe that an 800lb Street Glide is better low speed than 400lb bikes I've owned. Center of gravity I guess.

One more thing - as a HOG member, Harley will send you gift certificates for taking the courses (and pins and patches). I got the ERC course for $25 and then got paid back in full by HD with a gift certificate - so I finally bought one of their overpriced shirts.
