I was just browsing on eBay and came across a 2004 Fat Boy with 6,813 miles on it for a "buy it now" price of $4,500. The seller even provided a VIN number. Now I'm no expert, but I bet if you ran that number you would come up with a stolen bike or an invalid VIN. It never ceases to amaze me how people will fall for this crap. I was always taught that if it looks too good to be true, it probably is, yet there are obviously enough people out there falling for this crap that these scam artists keep putting their stuff on eBay. I just don't understand it! IF IT LOOKS LIKE S@!T, SMELLS LIKE S@!T, AND TASTES LIKE S@!T, THERE'S A REAL GOOD POSSIBILITY THAT WHAT YOU'VE GOT IS S@!T!!!! When will people learn?
It probably is a scam or stolen but I've heard of cases in divorces where the wife got to sell the bike and the husband had to take half and she gets half and she doesn't want much for it to spite the guy.
Dont be surprised if E-bay removes that deal in the next few days as they are aware of scams too. A few months ago I saw a year old Kabota tractor worth $30,000 for a buy it now price of $3,500. E-bay removed the bogus tractor the next day. Usaually the seller wants payment via money order or wired direct to him and thats the last you hear from him..........BG
It's a scam....No ifs ands or buts about it. If you would "Buy it Now" the seller will require something like 2000.00 or so money down. And he will require it 24 hours or so after auction is over. So you send him 2000.00 or whatever he says, And I will bet you will never hear from him again. Save your money!!!! We all know what is a fair price for a Harley. As it is stated above, "If its to good too be true, it not true."

These guys selling things like this and the afore mentioned Kabota don't even have have the item they are trying to sell. Like George said, they will take your money and run. Most likely they are in some other country also.
I've looked into about 3 or 4 of these "killer deals". They provide a vin that is as described, but they want you to send them money via wire transfer though a 3rd party, not e-Bay. The 3rd party will suposibly not release the money till you receive the bike and approve of it. I contacted e-Bay about some of these deals and they said that they can not be responsible for ANY deal not done through e-Bay. What was funny was that these people selling these bikes gave me a real similar story about why they were selling them. They were now living overseas and couldn't register them there due to one reason or another. They could not sell them there because no one has enough money where they are at. All of the sellers were wanting to ship it to me free of charge on the SAME carrier. I looked up the carrier and they did not show a phone number to contact them, only an e-mail address. What kind of carrier doesn't have a phone number?
