I wanted a clean look on the bike. No Sissy bar, saddle bags etc. Being a new rider that sounded great so I went a backpack route.
As I needed more stuff sometimes the pack was just uncomfortable. Or as I needed to take the jacket off on warmer days.
Ended up getting smart and getting a swing arm bag, sissy bar and roll up bag.
My wants were about looks but my desire to ride alot trumped that.
I carry a windzone tool kit in a Fork bag that I have mounted at the bottom of the down tubes. I only use a backpack only if I know I'm coming home with something or need to take things to work. Tools in a backpack for every ride IMO would get very annoying. I almost forgot if I'm not running with a backpack I have the Kuryakyn Custom roll bag on my bars. Acts as a good wind/bug deflector too!! Check it in my sig pic!
Happy New Year. I'm thinking about a backpack. What are the best features and what tools and things do you carry?
