Ok guys im looking to trade my Night train in for a more stable bike thats a little easier on my back and because i dont like the way the 21inch wheel on the train tracks all over the crappy roads where i live!! Looking at bikes with floorboards , fater front tire and medium ape hangers. Was set on the Crossbones until i seen a pic of a Fatboy lo with black 16 inch apes it looked sweet! So i know in the end its up to me and i defenetly will take them for a ride before i choose. But since its winter time i figured id ask to see if anyone was in the same spot and took both for a test ride and what one they liked better? The dealer wants 16,299 for the Fatboy and 16,999 for the Bones! But i figure if i go with the Fatboy throw on the Black 16inch apes they will be about the same price in the end!
Bro save your self a ton of money and turn that train into either one of those.
I am sure that you can fit at least a 120 on the front of that sled... apes will cost your around $400 and cables another $180 . There are pelenty of used front ends out there as well. Hell a springer front end wont cost you more than a couple of $.... why by something else you already have a softail bike... just MOP

I did look in to doing all that! For a good spinger front was like $2,500, Ape hangers for 14" black 1 1/4 $700 thats with the cables. New wheel with fatter tire i didnt look in too but im sure its gota be another $400 at least! Plus installing floorboards in stead of my forwards! Thats just to much money i could spend about the same or less and just get a new bike! Dealers giveing me 14,000 for my Train!
Fat Boy all the way. Xbones is listed by most as the least attractive HD out there. If you are planning on keeping it forever, and you like the Xbones, then go for it, if you may want to sell it later on, go Fatboy for sure.
Not to burst your bubble, but if you do a search for "most unattractive Harley model" or something like that, you will discover the ugly truth. I stumbled across the thread the other day. The Rocker topped the list, with X bones close behind along with the V-Rods. Don't let it bother you though....beauty is in the eyes of the beholder-just ask my wife! haha

I already did. Not on a single list, at least on page 1 of the google search
Now I DO think that the stock Xbones was DESIGNED to modify. I blacked mine out completely, except for the Rinehart exhaust and it is Beautiful...if you like Black !

yeah just change up the train you already own, it's a softail there's not much of a difference from one to the next. a springer front will cost a bit but that's if you insist on a springer, but really for $1500 - $2000 you can turn that train into pretty much anything you want if you're resourceful. by the time you get done wheeling and dealing, tax title license, BS add-ons that new bike is going to cost you a ton more.
