Default Numb Butt

Hi Everyone and thanks in advance for your help. I have an 09 Heritage and I upgraded the seat to a Mustang wide studded, with backrest, I have about 3500 miles on the seat. So here's my problem, after riding for about an hour my butt feels numb. If I lay way back it helps for a while. A friend just bought a Corbin which is as hard as a rock compared to mine, and 3 inches narrow and he loves it, he can go hours longer with no pain or numbing. Do you think my seats to wide? Has anyone overcome this problem by going to a hard narrower seat.

Its the foam. Since you've had it a while returning it is probably out of the question and if so give mean city cycles a call and that can probably help reshape it with better foam. I doubt its the width unless its cutting off the circulation in your legs

Try adjusting your riding pegs or ride with sheep skin on the seat for a few hundred miles until the seat wears in a lil' more.
Hatch.

I took my seat apart and put a butt buffer (www.buttbuffer.com) in my seat under the leather. At 1st I just bought one for the rear for my wife. She bragged on the dang thing so much I got one for my seat too. It works really well.

I customized my stock seat with some mattress cover memory foam and it made a big difference. Just used an electric knife to shave away the stock foam and layered on the memory foam with spray adhesive. Check out www.diymotorcycleseat.com
