I think you and Metal Mike are right. Cool thing is that it is a sleeper bike. I have yet to have a Harley that can pull up beside me and overtake me when the light changes. They are usually shocked. This baby moves. I have to be careful though, because it really encourages agressive driving. I just "wants" to go fast. The dealer even put the upgraded chrome wheels on it @ $1200 each. I personally think the stock spoke wheel is beautiful, but he claims that he built it for speed and the new front wheel is much more stable.

I've got an '06 and eventually I would like to do some serious engine work to it. If I was going to leave it stock (or just upgrade AC & exhaust), then I'd want an '07. But for serious performance, my preference is the motor with the shorter stroke. This is a preference thing and many people would disagree, but I'd want a better balance of torque and hp. These vtwins are already super torquey by design and in my opinion where they need help is breathing and reving.
You *might* actually have the ideal setup. I bet it will FLY, but it isn't so extreme to kill its reliability. Torque is manageable but when you want it, just let it rev a bit and you're making serious power. Sounds like you've got an awesome motor. If that HP estimate is anywhere near correct, you'll be seriously disappointed going to an '07.
