No Power at Ignition Switch?

No Power at Ignition Switch?

I turn on switch and nothing comes on. I can try later and it does. When I try to start engine it bumps the stater and I lose all power again. Any suggestions? 2006 Super Glide Custom.

How old is the battery? Are the cables tight, and is the connection clean? Could be a bad circuit breaker, broken down cable, battery, switch, or a bad connection somewhere in the wire bundle.

Sounds like a loose ground cable, had that problem fairly often on my Heritage.

Loose battery connection. I had the exact same thing a few weeks back.

Battery good? Cables clean and tight? HD's need to be right when it comes to engaging the starter. Too many people neglect thier batteries and their terminals.

had about the same thing happen and took off battery cables and sanded the ends of them even tho they looked ok.took the ignition switch apart and shined up the contacts in it with 000 steel wool replaced the circuit breaker with 40 amp fuse link.all of that solved my problem.good luck!!
