engine won't cut off
I have a 96 F150 and when I turn the ignition switch to the off position the truck keeps running. I am able to stop the truck by pulling the fuse to the fuel pump. when the truck is stopped, all internal power is still applied. Overnight, I have to pull the battery cable to prevent draining the battery.
The ignition switch was faulty. I could remove the key from any position (start, on, acc...).
I have replaced the ignition switch, but it did not fix my problem. I believe that there is another problem inside the steering column. Can anyone help?
