Has anybody else had issues with their 09 ultra having vibration prob when they put there feet out on the high way pegs From 2nd gear all the way thru 6th I have a vibration prob service techs at the dealership have rebuilt the motor twice which is not stock completely rebuilt the trans replaced the flywheels in the motor replaced font and rear tire put new bearings in the rear wheel and sprocket I'm at a loss and I think the service tech is also the bike has been back 9 times and going in again I really don't want a new bike mine is a one up color But I don't know what else to do Ive only got 7200mi on the bike which most of it came from the dealership trying to fix the prob Its getting to the point Ive had enough any help from anybody at s loss and frustrated and I no Harelys are suppose to vibrate but not like this
My '09 is smooth once off idle; naturally I get a little vibration on the highway pegs since they don't have the rubber mounted inserts like the floor boards. So when you say vibration on the highway pegs; how about the stock floorboards? When you say that they have rebuilt your motor and it's not stock; what have your done? Was the rebuild and the trans replacement done in an attempt to fix the vibration? Have you had a HD factory rep take a ride on your bike? If not; I would have the dealer (if they are willing) or yourself call the MOCO and see if you can get a factory service manager out to take a look at it.
I had the big bore stage 2 with bigger cams put in when I bought the bike new and never had the vibration they have rebuilt the motor and trans tryn to get rid of the prob and yes you can feel the vibration in the stock floor boards a rep did take it for a ride but the tech who was workn on my bike wasn't there the day he took it and he only rode it for 5min came back and said he cldnt feel it I didnt have the vibration until I had a deer jump out in front of me and I had just enough time to pull the clutch in and spike the front brake Never hit the deer but after that is when I started getting the vibration Im a machinery mechanic by trade and to me it almost feels like a bearing is going out somewhere on the bike. In 4th gear at 50mph at 3000rpm you can feel it bad and then in 5th if you run at 70 mph and slowly roll into the throttle you can feel it
I think at this point I would put the bike on a jack, find a wheel spinner, spin the front wheel up to speed, if vibration is there, then you have a starting point, if not then do rear tire, you may have to pull the belt to isolate if wheel, trans etc. If no vibration, fire it up, now it has to be engine related. Worth the effort I believe.
