Do you still have the 80463-06 pipes? How did you resolve? I'm looking to do the SE intake and pipes on my 06 FLHRi and this catalyst issue is still a question for me as I've still go a couple years of warranty left. I've been thinking of getting the80491-07 one piece SE pipeslisted in the 2007 book, but not sure if will cause issues with the catalyst deal.
You know when I first heard the difference between the SE slip ons and the stock ones at the store I was impressed and glad I went with them. But now that I have been out riding everyone elses Harley's sound way louder and deeper. Is there a slip on that will really make a big difference? Is going with a stage 1 and new pipes(reinhardts?) the only way to truly change the sound? Or do I even need stage 1? And what is a baffle? Can they go on a SE slip on? Just trying to do it a cheaper way. But if I have to fork out the dough I will.
I just purchased a set of screaming eagle slip on's and I'm very disappointed in the sound. They are not really any louder than stock except a little deeper sound. I bought them because I've heard other SE on the same bike I ride 06 Ultra Classic and their pipes sound great. The dealer sold me the one's that he said fit my bike but they don't sound nothing like what I've heard. I also had the Stage I kit and calibration as well.
The number he sold me is 80463-06. Did I get the wrong pipes or will they eventually burn out a little and sound better later????? Please help!!!
SHog, yes the ones your squealer sold you are the NEW EPA RegulatedHD "Catalyst" Mufflers for Touring Models Part # 80463-06, Holy chit, you didn't pay $429.95 for them, did you?
I have the '06 SE catalog in front of me. SE Pro One piece Performance Mufflers (pre- EPA), slash down #64903-99, fits '95-later touring models.
Good luck finding a dealer that still has the old style slip-ons. Last June, I had a problem with my SEII's and the dealer did a search and at that time there we're only 33 left in the country. There is a set of #64903-99,on eBay right now. Tim http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SCREA...QQcmdZViewItem
