Very true! I knew a guy who had become a mechanic through a midlife crisis. He was a very well respected proctologist before changing careers. Very impressive with his hands! I once witnessed him completely tear down an engine right down to the bare block, and rebuild it. Took him three months, which is really sort of slow, but he did it all through the tail pipe... now THAT my friends, is impressive!

hold on, dont change the subject yet, I just Bought a 2006 sporty 1200 custom and I was interested in changing out the speedo bulb to a differnet color, probably red or a brighter orange bulb
Does anyone know what year Harley switched to a LED in the Sportster 1200C? If I have filament bulbs in my 2006 what type and how many bulbs are in the speedo? I'd rather not waste time taking the unit apart to find out I cant change the bulb.
This 2006 doesnt look like it's LED, it's pretty Dim.

Go to any Radio Shack or similar. Wire an LED in series with a 580 Ohm 1/4 Watt resistor. Instant 12 Volt LED Bulb -or- they also sell them assembled as a unit if you aren't handy with a soldering iron. Pick your color: Red, Green, Yellow, etc.
