Did you ever test ride the RK? You may have thought it was a beautiful bike but after a ride you may be glad you kept your LO. Seating is very different.

I've had a couple of Softails, And I have a 99 RK. The Softail is definately a good looking bike and fun to ride. However the RK was always the bike I was pulling out of the garage to ride leaving the Softail home. If I'm somehwere (like a rally) and plan on doing all around town riding I'll pop off the windshield and backrest and just leave them in the hotel room. My view from the seat (without the windshield) doesn't look much different to me than my Softail, and the RK really doesn't feel any heavier to me riding around town. On the highway the ride is better on the RK.

My Softail didn't have bags. I didn't like coming out of somewhere at night after the temp dropped 20 degrees and all I had on was a t-shirt. I like enjoying my rides. Those bags come in handy. Some tools, heated liner, cable lock and map in one bag and misc stuff like night glasses, suntan lotion, baseball cap, jacket...etc in the other bag.

It's all relative I guess. Back when my main ride was a BSA rigid chopper I bought my first Softail. It felt like riding on air compared to that old Brit Chop.

I can honestly say there isn't any other bike I WISH I had over my current RK. And I agree with other posts, Go and rent an RK. Maybe you will appreciate your Softail more or find out the RK is the bike for you. Good luck either way.

Get the RK and keep the Fatboy too. OK - I admit it -- I've had 6 bikes in the garage at once and an empty fridge a time or two but its always an option.

I traded in my 2010 Ultra to get my 2012 and really came out well ojn the trade. It is certainly worth looking into. Life is short, enjoy it.

I have an '06 Superglide, bought it new, and like it a lot! Put more money into it than I care to admit to get it the way I like it. Have no plans in letting it go. But, knowing then what I know now, if I could do it all over again, I'd be on a Road King Classic right now.

Plan on getting one soon. But I'll keep my Superglide. We've got history, and it's just to much fun!

Best wishes....Tim(HT)

Depends on how much you ride...I've had softails, Electra-Glide shovel, Super Glide shovel, I now ride a Street Glide and to me it's the best ride yet for any kind of high mileage riding. (I have not ridden the Ultra or Road Glide) I never sink huge amounts of money into my scoots, I just make sure they're mechanically sound and comfortable... You never know when you'll need to sell or trade...And we all know what the dealer will give you for extras!
