Anyhow, my bike was hit by a Dodge Ram. It was parked in a legal parking space and this jackass could have parked anywhere, but cut his turn too close and plowed into my bike.
I reported it to the adjuster who in-turn authorized additional $$. Granted, this came out of the other guy's insurance.
You were parked illegally and his insurance paid? Okay....
keeping the street glide. hoping to do some mods with the insurance money. either fix bags i have now, repaint etc or just go with full baddad rear. hopefully a 21'' wheel and apes too
Glad you're alright. Now, a word from the not so wise....When you do get that check from your insurance company and it sounds like it will be a substantial amount. You're going to be so reved up to get that bike back on the road that you need to... SLOW DOWN !! Take your time selecting your place of repair, I suggest a dealer, not an after market shop. Most importantly, DON'T give them all the money at once, they will string you out for months , if you do.
I got $11,300 (after deductible) for my totaled '97 Road King. As far as estimates go I recommend a HD Dealership as they are likely to quote the highest $ amount.

Yeah thats what I did. I had it towed to a custom shop and didnt see happy with the way the owner wanted to fix it. Not impressed.
So Im having it towed to local Harley dealer tomorrow for estimate on friday. The service guy was really cool. I told him I have one damaged saddlebag and he said he could just order the HD true stretched bags(not the ugly CVO ones, that arent a true 4in) and it comes with lids and all hardware. So we shall see. HD knows what to check and will give the highest estimate.
Said it could take 2-2 1/2 mths for it to be fixed depends how long it takes for new painted fender etc to come in. So If thats the case Im going to see about taking bike home and getting check and order parts myself. Well see though. Hopefully all goes well. Wish me luck
