Made the mistake of using a pot scrubber on boot marks. Chrome is scrubbed through on the curve. Now a hazy brass color. Any ideas short of replacing the shields? Anyone know what they cost? Approaching cost of new pipes? Currently stock. Is sending out for rechroming worth considering? Can I improve the appearance with polish? I could probably live with it as is but will consider options as suggested here. Thanks in advance. Jeff
If I understand correctly, this is a heat shield from your stock exhaust? If so, I'll bet you can find a replacement easily right here on HDF. Otherwise, check with local chromers. The last time I did heat shields I think it cost me $75.00.
I couldn't give my stock pipes away. Ended up eventually going to the scrapper with my buddy who scraps a lot of stuff at work. Find someone here, should be able to get a heat shield for stock pipes for cheap.
