I'm thinking about handing over the $120 for a set of the MoCo's split-vision mirrors (#92190-06), but I'd appreciate hearing from someone who's tried them. Are they just an expensive gimmick, or do they help a rider keep better track of dangers around & behind?
thanks,
Animosh
I don't know.. yet. I'm having them installed on my wife's Deluxe right now. Normally, that's something you do yourself, but we are changing out the bars, controls, switch covers, adding heated grips, auxilary switches (for a garage door opener) and they had to measure for the new cables. I really think we are going to like them, and I'll add them to my Ultra soon.
Go to HALESHD.COM to get them. 20% off every part, every day, no tax and low shipping. They are great folks to deal with. Tell Jim that his frequent buyer from NC gave you the tip.
I had them on my Deluxe for a couple of weeks before I returned them. I could see just as much and more easily with the stock mirrors. They were distracting.
I have them on my Ultra, I got them from Hales (20%discount)
I thoughtthey were distracting at first also, but have gotten used to them and I really like them now.
Gives me 2 lines of vison from the mirror that I was missing before.
My wife likes them also, I know it is a personal preference, but try them out for a while and make your own decesion
Why not go to local auto parts sore, buy some of those little stick-on mirrors and try them a few weeks to see how you like them? If you don't, remove them, clean mirrors with some alcohol and you're only out about $15 or so.
I stuck lilttle round convex mirrors on my stock harley mirrors. Eliminates blind spot. No need to turn your head back around to see whats next to you. I have them on all my vehicles. It is a lot safer.[8D]

Have them on my RG, and I love them. Stock mirrors were worthless, and the only other mirrors that would have improved rear vision over stock would have been long and ugly (IMHO). The split vision mirrors look good and work great.
