ok so im picking up a new to me dyna next mont hand needed new lids so i got online and looked through some of the differnt ones available. i have always been a novelty beanie type guy, but decided to go on the FF side for the season. anyway i dont want to be spending $$$ but also dont want a cheap POS, anyway i decided the price and looks of the vortex fits my budget and style requirments just right so i ordered two of them (one for me and one for any passengers i might have)
so for those of you using the vortex what do you think of them? any thing i need to look out for in them ?
as for the whole FF dont belong on a harley crowd i dont really care what others think belongs on a harley i am just looking for input and feedback on the bell vortex.
Dont really know anything about it. My previous helmets all seemed to whistle and this drove me nuts. I finally spent the coin on a SHOEI RF1000 and that helmet is great. Hope yours don't whistle ?
I ride with a FF and really don't care what people think. I still have a couple Half Helmets and I prefer the FF. I tried doing the Half Helmet thing for a few years and got tired of it Hated the wind, noise, bugs rocks etc.etc. Ride what you like. The only time I use my Half Helmet is when I'm going local to get some stamps are something.
looks like a nice helmet!
here in NZ helmets are compulsory, i ride with a 3/4 helmet, i do have a matt black FF Zeus helmet but i find them restrictive for looking over shoulders etc but essential for heavy rain!
great to here your finaly getting another bike denis! look forward to the pics
Hey Coyote. I've got a Vortex and it seems to be a good helmet. Ventilation is fair, the shield works well with 3 different positions, fully closed, cracked open and full open. The shield has not scratched or gotten hazy in the year I've owned it and I have to clean the bugs off after most every ride. It fits my head well, snug but not overly tight. My only complaint is it has a poor paint job. I've never dropped it or abused it in any way and yet there are small spots of a yellow base coat or primer that is showing through in a growing number of places after less than 6 months of wear.
I tried one on in Myrtle Beach Saturday. I am not a FF guy, but I was impressed. The modular was really nice. However, I bought the Pit Boss as it is only 2 lbs and very comfy.
