I just use the ultimate protection from Hearos. Seems to do a pretty good job for me.

Bought the Earpro EP4's by Surefire for my wife and I both.

My ears are pretty sensitive to plugs and headphones, but these things are really comfortable.

In fact, I just ordered a second pair, as my left one feel out of my pocket on a recent trip. Muddcreek is awesome too - free shipping, and I had them in about 2 days.

Best $14.36 mod I've made in a while! :-)

Great! I alway recommend a product when I find one that works really well for me. I am glad that you had the same positive experience with them that my wife and I have had.

You should seriously check out alpine - voted the best in Europe by motoradd

It's strange....I used to ride without plugs at all, or just those Hearos (junk, IMHO), and never really minded the sound and noise. Then, 2 weeks ago, me and 2 buddies rode from Colorado Springs to Great Falls, MT. It was about 860 miles, riding second in the stagger, behind loud pipes for 16 hours.

When we got there, and I took the plugs out for good that day, I could hear everything, and my ears felt fine. Starting the bike again without the plugs, it sounded SO MUCH LOUDER!

Earpro for the win.

I really thought about the Alpines, but when I read reviews about the Earpros, and the knowing the reputation of Surefire, I didn't think I could lose.

Maybe one day I'll look at the Alpines again, but for now, I'm really happy with the EP4s from Earpro. After losing one, I'm wishing I would have just used the lanyard they provide too. It's removable, and I didn't see it's inherent value. Oh well. I guess for another $14, I got off cheap for this hobby!

I've tried both, including 2 versions of the surefires, and the Alpines are hands-down the best.

I'm all for every one wearing hearing protection and I'm the guy that wears it all the time at work and while riding. It's just become normal, I embarrass my wife quite often because I forget to take them out when we go in places. I use the green or orange foam ones.

Why do you all use the surefires or alpines if the NRR rating is 8 or more DB less than the foam?

I get my plugs free but a 200 count box is only $25 on Amazon.

Not trying to be a jerk, I would like to know what the advantage is, cause if there is one I'll get me some.

I'm interested in this too. The ones I buy are 33NRR and I get 3 boxes for like $14 (lasts at least 3 months).
