at 43,000 miles. Luckily I have ESP....$181.19 in parts, $249.85 for labor. If you have whirling type noises when you downshift....this may be the problem
Mine went out at less than 10K miles on the clock. At first, I thought it was just the seal so I pulled it apart myself and changed the seal out. When it took out the seal the second time, the part guy told me they had a problem with the bearing and said they'd likely change it under warranty even though I changed it myself. I let them do the second time and they did it all at no charge. Not a drop has fallen since.
I have the 5 speed with a zillion miles on it, all with original bearings. So when I heard about the first inner primary bearing failures on the first 6 speed Dynas in 2006, I wondered what was different to cause that problem. There weren't many/any IPB issues before then.
Just last month I read an article from some writer in a bike mag, and he wondered if the mainshaft "rocks or see saws" inside the 6 speed tranny. The IPB would be the recipient of that he thought.
Then a year or two ago I understand that the MoCo introduced a new stronger IPB and the failures are significantly reduced now.
I wonder if that guy didn't have something there. The problem was the 6 speed design itself, not something inside the primary.
I asked the service guy what caused it to go,he said it just wore out.....will talk to the service manager and listen to what he says. Basically the service guy said they just fail

What year is your bike?.... If it's an '06; you might want to do some searching here on the Forums.... there are some issues. "Finally good news" on my IPB comes to mind.... It's a good read about the "issues".
I had a new '07 tranny case and inner primary case, and new bearings, seals, and bushings installed on mine at the onset of the third IPB failure. All on the MoCo's dime. Had been told by someone in "the know" that several hundred tranny cases had been mis-machined/poorly engineered.
