Default Thinking about a 48 or a 72

Ok so here is the deal. I have been wanting a sporty for some time now just to beat around town with, you know a bar hopper. So any way I came across 2 that just seem too good to be true. Both at the same mom and pop dealer.

The first one is a stock, black 2012 48 with 290 miles. Asking price....$8600.00

The second is a stock hard candy red 2012 72 with 1065 miles. Asking price....$8600.00

Both of these are practically brand new bikes and still with factory warranty. My question is.....Is it too good to be true? They prices seem awfully low especially for the 72. Am I reading too much into this or could there possibly be a problem? I am thinking maybe they might be Sandy bikes and have some salt water issues. I am gonna go look at them both. Is there anything I should be looking for as far a water damage or anything? Anything that might be visible without tearing them apart?

Would the dealer not have to disclose flood damage or repairs if the bikes were damaged?

I am pretty sure they would. It just seem like an exceptionally low price especially for the 72. That bike can't be more than 5 maybe 6 months old.

If it's legit, I'd have to go with the '72 also....

Personally I'd go with the 48, really it's up to you and which bike look you prefer, as far as the flood damage is concerned just ask the dealer and why it's such a low price.

Do a vin check and ask about the previous owners. Ask them directly if they're Sandy exposed bikes. If it all shakes out legit I'd be all over that 72. It's a pretty fair price. I'd even try and see how much room they'll move on the price. It is December and I can't guess bikes are moving all that fast. Wait for a cold day when the shop is barren.

If there is any doubt about the bike's history I'd avoid them. If they're skiddish about the answers, avoid. Hopefully, for your sake, it's a straight deal. Good luck.

I would ask them to see if they could get you the previous owners # and give them a call. And ask about Sandy, basicaly all that has been said already.
And 72 all day long!

I would go with the 48. Although im not a fan of skinny front tires, I do like the stock bars on the 72.
