A turkey baster will work for the master cyclinder but will do nothing for the rest of the system.

I have the same Mityvac, but change my brake fluid a little more frequently than 12 years!! Actually, I check the level at every 5k servicing and if I notice that the brake fluid has turned a brownish color, I'll bleed them and put fresh fluid in. Don't want the brakes to fade when I need them the most!!

Yep....gonna do mine soon as I put my new rear tire on. I'll be puttin rear pads on then too, so that looks like a good time to change it. There'll be 95,500 miles in it then and the fluid has never been changed.

How exactly does the mityvac work? Does it hook to the brake line and vacuum it out?
