I have the standard also see pic below my windshield is to high acording to most as I look thru it about 2 inches but have no buffeting and I rid 70-90 most of the time also wife is happy with it
I installed the "chopped" national cycle switchblade windshield and I had significant buffeting. I am 5'9" and I was surprised with it... At highway speeds my head was shaking so much that I had double vision! Not good for a long ride.
At these speeds I felt with my clutch hand and I could feel buffeting coming from under and some from over the top.
I installed the national cycle chrome lowers and wow. What an improvement. Indeed as others have commented much of the buffeting is coming from under!
Just IMHO, but I've never understood the whole windshield thing...I've never been on a bike with a windshield that didn't get buffeted and knocked around, or made the wind situation worse for me personally...I have friends with several new bikes that I've tried out...collectively, a Street Glide, Heritage Special, a Road King, and a Softail Custom all with windshields, and they all just wear my *** out on the highway in windy conditions...each to their own, but they sure don't work for me, and my Train doesn't wear me out like that...just sayin...
You could try a wind baffle from a touring model. Just cut it to fit with a dremel. Someone over in the Dyna section did it and had some success with it. He had pics posted too. I know your bike isn'ta Dyna, but it may be worth looking into.
