My new to me Fat Boy came with the HD quick release windshield. I haven't measured, but it's tall, you look through it not over it. It goes on and off in 30 seconds which is really nice. I originally thought I'd replace it with a short one, but now that I'm used to looking through it, I like it. About the only time I put it on is for rides of 100 miles or more.
I just did the Harley compact windshield in 14" and it is absolutely perfect for me. I am 5'8". You will still get some wind off the sides but I get none over the top. It really takes the pressure off your chest and arms. Still a minor amount of helmet shake over 75 but hey, its a motorcycle not a minivan.
Another vote for the Harley compact 14". I'm 5'11" and previously had the 19", and it wasn't that good. The 14" is much better.
busy looking up all your advice. Saw one the other day is just a scoop over head light... he says works great... think he drinks too much personally... or does it?
I have a disinegrated disc in my neck. Ride maybe 4 hours without a break 120kms to 140kms... whatever that is in miles an hour... just enough it causes migrane headache these days...
Windvest.. not the look I want. Memphis shades... like the shy away from "round" top on windshield. Harley Compact 14" not bad, looking to see if I can find that style in low cut to follow drag bars rather than round... any hints?
Did you check out our Universals? Available in 3 different shield types, all with our "re-curve" and in clear, light, medium or dark tints. Chrome or black hardware. We make these 100% right here in our shop, including the hardware. The only thing we do is send out our finished hardware to a local shop for chrome plating or black anodizing. Great quality and guaranteed.
I'm a big fan of the quick release compact shields. Put em on fast when you're going far, take em off fast when you're rolling around town. Fast and convenient.
lol... spending valuable riding time looking for windshield. Apparently I'm looking for a wind deflector by the looks of what I'm finding. Found a quad wind shield that is the look I seek. Racing bikes without all the fairing have the small wind deflector.
It's going to take some shopping. I've been around bikes 27 years without a windshield, rain gear and heated ***... damn. Took a while to get used to no beanie... now this..
