Anybody have recommendations for good wintertime reads? More snow here in the burgh and single digit temps for the coming week so need something good to read.
If you like detective style writing I can list several good authors. Lee Child-the Jack Reacher series, Vince Flynn, Caunitz, Higgins, Brad Thor, John Sanford, James Patterson, Baldacci, Jonathan Kellerman.

bikers read? lol..jus kidding!!!
i'm only familiar w/ kiddie books since im in education, but they all seem to be into the whole fantasy genre like lord of the rings/hobbit, harry potter, percy jackson, hunger games, etc. yah, the teachers all said they like em' too.
No A$$ing around here...but if you can get your hands on any of the old 1970s - early 1980s EASYRIDER magazines there are some really good short stories in them. Now they are not BOOKS and all of the stories are not great, but back in the day I used to be very entertained by them. Plus the cartoons are a riot. Also check out the FABULOUS FURRY FREAK BROTHERS if you can find them. They were underground comics, if you haven't ever heard of them, about three inner city dope heads that live together. The often quite by accident situations that they get themselves into are quite hilarious and often the most entertaining part of the comics is what their cat is doing or the "though" comments he makes about their activities.
