I very seldom lock my helmet, but when I do it's the same padlock used for the forks on the mirror stem. Good enough.

I lock up my helmet at work using a pad lock through the fork lock. If I'm out at a bar or restaurant. Or at a friends house I just hang it off my sissy bar and call it good

If you are wearing a little black half helmet...a lock is a waste of money that would be better spent on beer...if you have a high dollar full face, and you don't lock it...it will come up missing in a hurry.

Best common sense answer yet.

Try spraying the inside, of the helmet, with Febreze.

The first question that comes to mind is: Has anyone here ever had a helmet stolen?

I only lock up my helmet if it is in my home and no one is going to be there so I lock the house and also when traveling and I take it into a motel room.

Sometimes I leave it on the seat, sometimes on the mirror, and usually on the highway peg. Never locked on the bike. Actually I usually do not have a helmet with me when riding.

If I'm out with my half helmut, I just leave it on the seat or foot pegs because if it comes up missing, I haven't lost much. But, if I'm out with my full-face, I use a cable lock.

There was a similar post on here a while back that asked the same question and one reply was to leave an empty holster for your 45 just hanging on the bars, people will look but ain't nobody going to touch your bike. I thought that one was worth passing around again.

I carry a cable gun lock because I do not lock my guns, but have not used the cable lock on my helmet yet either. I have guns in-case I need them and I have the cable gun lock in-case I need it, but have not felt the need to use either of them yet.

Most decent helmets have a removable liner you can wash. My Bell Bullitt does, as does my Arai Signet Q. Great helmets. Always locked.
