Have a 2007 Street Glide. Getting ready to do 50k on forks. Have the FSM, but doesn't really say what to replace. I want to have replacement parts on hand. Which seals/ O rings typically need replacing at 50k?
Here is a list of the factory parts you will need for a full rebuild.
45405-75a Damper Tube Bolt x2
45875-84a Fork Seal x2
Two quarts of Type E fork oil
If the slider bushings are in good shape you will not need to replace, but for the cost and being you are already in the forks I would just replace them is they look worn.
45866-84 Slider bushing x2
4940-84 Slider bushing x2
I would also suggest a progressive spring upgrade or something similar. You will also need a fork seal driver and a long allen socket to remove the damper bolt. Hope this helps.
That sounds close to what I did. I actually called a dealership and asked them what they typically replace on a fork rebuild. Then I ordered everything online with the exception of the oil, I used the Amsoil racing oil which is a heavier weight oil.
