There is no glue on a modern stock Harley OEM grip. Some aftermarket grips require the left grip to be glued, but the Harley-Davidson branded grips have a ridge that is secured when the housing is clamped together. You have to take the housing apart just like you would for the right grip.

Slice the grip length ways with a razor knife, then twist and pull off. Or just get a good grip on it and twist if you want to save the old grip. Sand off the old glue with fine sandpaper or emery cloth and install your new grip.

My '15 had glue. Used a razor knife and cut it off.

So did mine. I didn't want to cut it so I just got a good grip and twisted it and it broke loose. Came off easy then.

I used a small rubber strap wrench to break the glue bond. I started at one end and worked my way to the other end. After the bond was broke it came off easily.

Thanks for your comments! Yes. I don't want to cut it. I like the stock one. Somebody told me long time ago, to use a spray product, i don't remember, but it was for other purpose, but activate the glue again and it easy to take it out. I was hopping that somebody knew.

Thanks again. Im going ro try to twisted it.

Crank up the air compressor and blow shop air between the grip and bar. Squeeze the open end with your hand and the grip will expand like a balloon and can be slid off intact.
