Default How to reset my "distance to empty"

Hi Guys, I recently changed the battery on my 2013 Road King.

Afterwards, I noticed that my "Distance to empty" electronic indicator is out of wack!

It seems to have stayed at the last reading I had (e 256 Km) at the time when the battery was disconnected. Now, even though I have now filled up the tank completely, it had not indicated the new distance to empty reading. Help! Any advice on how to reset that will be appreciated ..... THANKS Pat

It might take a few tanks of fuel for the ECU to re-learn the Distance to empty.
Or you can try the mythical ECU reset.....
Run/Stop switch in Run position, turn the ignition on/off three times, don't do it very quickly. Turn it on, wait a couple of seconds, turn off, repeat 3 times.
Goodluck.

The miles till empty is entirely based on your riding style, when the battery was disconnected it reset the MTE. Just keep riding it and it should start to recalibrate, it is based off your last mileage between fill ups

While the DTE is helpful, your better off resetting your trip gauge with each fill-up and using that to track your gas usage and determining how far you can go before empty

I always just look down at the LED fuel gauge and count the dots.

Once it gets to 2 dots, I start looking for a gas station. I don't need internet bragging rights about how many miles I can ride on fumes before pushing.
