Default wiring turn signal problem

I recently bought new turn signal/marker lights from custom chrome, they are dual bulb and have a red and a black wire coming out of the light. I want to replace my old front turn signals with these but the wires out of the bike have a black, blue, and purple. I hooked up the red (from light) to the purple(from bike) and the black (from light) to the blue (from bike). my running lights work and my hazards flash fine but when I go to use the turn signals the lights just light up and dont flash any detailed help in this would be great. thanks again

Default RE: wiring turn signal problem

I thought that the blue wire was constant power for front turn lights on as running lights and the others were for the signals, one ground, one for signal. I'll check my bike, as I disconnected the constant on running lights and send you the answer in the morning.
