i have an 07 Heritage, and I got a ck. Engine light yesterday. Bike was not idling good. Made it home and checked codes po563 came up. I have read this is high voltage issue. It was suggested to check battery voltage while idling and at 3000 rpm. The highest reading I get is13.5 volts . I cleared code and rode bike about 10 miles. It runs fine but when I brake to stop, engine light comes back on . Anybody else had this happen? NEED HELP.
Voltage Regulator - Rotor - Stator
There is a troubleshooting procedure to determine the issue.
How much experience do you have and do you have a good DVM?
A Member - RIPSAW - may weigh in on the issue.
Follow his instructions.
In the meantime I'll try to find an older thread of mine which will help.
Thanks for the quick reply .i failed to mention this all started when a bee struck my hand and let go of throttle . Engine back fire once . The rough idle started when I came to next stop.
TSheff has a whole lot more confendence here then he should..
Lets do the simple stuff first... How many miles, how old is battery, had any previous problems? Does it have a tuner?
Sounds like correct DC voltage.. However, ignore idle since it will be low usually and the normal is 2000 rpm in ever manual I have looked at.
However, just snapping the throttle off like that leaving a lot of fuel with no air to pump thru exhaust which will pop. (why the went to the electricial throttle by wire system..it would open a little to allow some air)
Lets make sure both cables on battery are tight and after charging with a maintance charger a few hours till light is off, turn bike on so head lights come on to kill surface charge and turn back off and check battery voltage.

Thanks Ripsaw for responding. Bike has 37k , tuner from Fuelmoto, Big Suker, Bassani RoadRage 2/1 exhaust, battery is less than 6 months. I have checked battery cables and are all tight. Also checked IAC to be sure it was clean and moving freely . I will put tender on tonight and check voltage tomorrow evening. Only problem I had was replaced iac 2 years ago
