Smile Bolt removal

I have a question. Iam getting ready to remove my stator on my 2006 Dyna. I read the material Harley uses on it boltsto prevent loosing is very corrosive, destroys threads, and must be totally removed from thethreads. Is this true.

What does the service manual tell you to do? I would look it up for you but my manual is in the garage and I can't get to it for a while.
Not sure what you were reading but I can't imagine that HD uses a threadlocker that destroys threads.
You can always just get new bolts.
However, I'm sure those who have done it will be able to tell you.

I changed a stator before and never removed the factory loctite. The bolts are specifically "stator bolts" - made for that exact purpose.

I have a tap and dye set that I use to clean and chase threads. You can find a cheap set from most cheap wholesalers.

Always chase threads to clean out debris and old thread locker and apply fresh thread locker to clean threads with primer where called for
