Default Sporty foot controls.

I have a hard time with the foot controls being more suited to a shorter person, and it makes for a cramped ride. I assume I am not the only one but I was told that the shifter and brake are able to be moved forward. Us this fact or what, and if they can what is involved in this. One thing is the position of the shifter. Its eitjer to high or too low when moved on the splines. Any cure for this. I find it awkward having to move the left foot out so far into the windstream to move it to up or down shift. Or is it just something I need to get used to. This is my first bike without floorboards and it just seems like its too cramped in the foot control area.
